Deepak Sirdeshmukh, MS, PhD, is Co-Founder and President of Sensal Health, which offers IoT and AI-based solutions for clinical research organizations, pharma companies, and healthcare providers. Earlier he was a partner in a boutique consulting firm focused on customer trustworthiness and loyalty measurement in service industries. He holds an MS in Pharmaceutical Administration and a PhD in Marketing (Consumer Behavior), both from The Ohio State University.

His research expertise spans the determinants of customer trustworthiness, their organizational foundations, and the behavioral, financial, and reputational outcomes of customer trust. His current research extends these trust frameworks to AI, particularly in healthcare and customer service. His research has appeared in leading journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, and the Academy of Management Journal. His healthcare research has appeared in Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing & Management, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Journal of Dermatological Treatment.

His essays and commentaries on AI, health, and trust have appeared in STAT, MedCity News, Crain's Cleveland Business, and Pharmaceutical Executive. He writes Patient Trust Matters, a Psychology Today blog on trust in healthcare technology, and Trust and Traction, a Substack on trust in business and AI. He has delivered upward of a hundred executive training sessions and keynotes on trust and customer strategy to companies across the globe, and occasionally consults on trust and relational-capital measurement and on developing user-side measures of AI trustworthiness and alignment.

He is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi and has working facility in Tamil and French. His interests include Hindustani, Carnatic, and Western classical music, tennis, and art history. He spends several weeks a year in Hyderabad, his hometown. He and his family are longtime residents of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
